This is not something you can lay on its side it is built to have a
loose stopper that closes when you're not using it it opens when

I drink iced tea a lot. I boil water in my kettle and then put in 4
tea bags to steep. When cool, I would then pour the tea into a
pitcher.
Now.....I can just put my tea bags into this pitcher and pour the
boiling water right in. It's great! And, it's pretty to look at.

This is a great pitcher! I make tea nearly every day using loose
leaf tea, 10/10 would recommend. The pitcher's shape is also really
